How does the magazine you have studied construct and reflect its intended audience
Plumline come across as a very formal magazine, the title font looking fairly formal yet slightly playful, connoting a friendly vibe yet still giving off that serious side. The achievements that are placed underneath the title leave us with a sense of trust, by seeing the different subjects that the students participate in the intended audience have some knowledge into the institute and their background.
To me the magazine appeals to parents, prominently aimed at the mother figure of the family due to the brightly coloured background ranging from pinks to yellows to greens, spreading out throughout the different subjects. This use of colouring can also relate to the release month of the issue being in July, the use of summery colours relate to this thought of excitement and happiness almost which also relates to the achievements that the students have made throughout the articles.
The pictures that are integrated within the articles makes the audience be aware, it is almost like a way of updating the ‘home front’ of the things that are going on within the school, by using the pictures it may also intrigued the students, maybe with them wanting to see if they are in the magazine or even to see if their name has been mentioned.
In terms of reflecting its intended audience I believe that this magazine expresses it well. It enables the parent to be apart of their child’s school life and will inform them of the different things and developments that are happening within and around the school so that they are aware.
Even the magazine itself isn’t that big also symbolises its relevance, it isn’t a magazine for lounging around the house with it solely acts as a source to keep the home up to date with the changes or achievements made.
